Snorkeling & Scuba Diving

Scuba Diving in Panama

here is an abundance of fish and marine life in the Pedasi area, and you are not likely to be disappointed whether you are a diver or just interested in snorkeling.

Isla Iguana, a quick 20 minute boat ride away from Pedasi, is a major SCUBA destination in Panama but can also make for a great day trip complete with snorkeling and island exploration

Kitesurfing or kiteboarding is a surface water sport combining aspects of wakeboarding, windsurfing, surfing, paragliding, and gymnastics into one extreme sport: Kitesurfing.

kitesurfer  harnesses the power of the wind with a large controllable kite to be propelled across the water on a kiteboard similar to a wakeboard or a small surfboard.

Stand up paddle surfing

Stand up paddle surfing (SUP) , stand up paddle boarding, is a sport that orignated in Hawaii and involves people standing on a surfboard and paddling with a canoe-like paddle.

A 2013 outdoor magazine report called it the outdoor sporting activity with the most first-time participants of any in the United States that year. Paddling is fun and easy to learn. It can also be great exercise!

Sport Fishing

Panama is known world wide for its fishing records. This is not surprising as the continental shelf drops off sharply relatively close to shore (just 25 kms/13.5 miles offshore) and the waters depth reaches up to 600-1,000 feet. The ocean reaches these depths only a few miles offshore in some areas; making it great for short daily sport fishing charters from Pedasi.

What can you catch:

Year-round: Amberjack, Pacific sailfish, cubera snapper , roosterfish , grouper
More seasonally – November through April: Dorado (also called mahi-mahi or dolphin fish), bigeye tuna , yellowfin tuna , wahoo.

Horseback Riding

ith fantastic beach and hillside trails and much to see, Playa Venao is a perfect destination for horseback riding. Whether you are pursuing your passion or simply want to go for a casual ride, Venao is a great place to do it.
